They do not have an HR department, which makes solving problems nearly impossible and shows how little they consider ethical workplace dynamics. They fired the Marketing Director two weeks after I started and never replaced them. No one in any of the creative roles has much experience. All of the upper management and the owners are related and often work multiple roles. They seem to either overwork themselves or are workaholics. Their opinions and ideas are favored over the content team's. They frequently have very little time to provide any direction or guidance. They do not have a brand guide, which makes it very difficult to understand what they want. And good luck figuring that out because it changes often and if you can't keep up you're out of there. The benefits aren't great; no dental insurance. I never met the CEO until our last meeting to discuss our concerns. There isn't anyone solely in charge of marketing, which makes it confusing to navigate. I was let go over the phone after I spoke up about the way the content team was being treated. They did not provide any kind of severance or real explanation, only saying that they had decided to go in a new direction. All in all, it was a very impersonal experience that made me feel like I had to prove myself at every turn, instead of relying on a creative team for support. Unless you plan on marrying into the family, which is what one person did, don't work here.
