Svantaggi
- Spitfire was once a dream company to work for, where innovative and exciting products were being dreamt into reality on a near constant basis. Unfortunately the ideas dried out, along with some bad decision making from senior management and a public fallout with its co-founder - leading to the company making a quarter of employees redundant in the beginning of 2023. Many parts of the company were closed and staff were reshuffled to work on what was left. - Since then a new CEO has been hired with the job of turning things around and while it initially felt like a positive move, the company has started to fall apart. Senior management are unable to make key decisions while the company haemorrhages staff on a weekly basis and any that are still around are completely demotivated to the point that they openly talk about leaving asap. There is virtually no career progression here anymore, partly down to the fact that there is no money left to spare, but also down to the fact that senior management is so detached from the rest of the company that it does not see or recognise success stories. Yet they are hiring a series of expensive chief officers, effectively creating a top heavy hierarchy, rather than trusting existing staff. Staff are regularly described as 'resource' and are constantly fighting against the tide of changing decisions or lack of transparency over the direction of the company.
