Svantaggi
- Low job security. The company seems financially unstable and colleagues are regularly fired in waves (or before their contracts are up for renewal). Fire a group of employees when money's tight, then hire new ones when a partner contract is won. HR exists solely to protect the interests of the company, never to assist the employee. - Little respect for employees. When someone is 'let go', this happens in a highly disrespectful manner. I've seen young/expat employees who, unaware of the protection that local employment law offers, got overwhelmed into signing unfavorable 'agreements' to prematurely terminate their contract. I've seen people get fired with minimum amounts of notice (or none, in the case of freelancers) and without getting the opportunity to formally say goodbye to their colleagues, even after 2-3 years of service. After witnessing this once or twice, you start wondering what tomorrow will bring. - Little to no possibilities for career advancement. Tasks are often simple and repetitive, there is little (if any) investment in employees in terms of education or expansion of responsibilities. There is no clear progression path, and as a designer you will not build a worthwhile portfolio. - Poor conditions and compensation There is no pension scheme. Chairs in the office are literally falling apart. Salaries are low. Computers are old. - Low work satisfaction It's hard to take pride in a product when quantity is considered to be so much more important than quality.
