-Amazing Coworkers: Spreetail has been successful in recruiting incredible people. The offices and warehouses are full of many ambitious, talented, and kind humans with varying professional backgrounds. The people I worked with were the light that kept me going when the skies were dark. That was intended to be figurative, but realized it was also literal because there were times we worked until it was dark outside to meet deadlines and requirements. -Gained Experience: This is a great place to start your career if you’re looking for a quick way to add many impressive bullet points to your resume. You’ll be handed responsibility from the very beginning and it’s expected you deliver, which is an awesome position to be in when wanting professional development. The company is focused on improvement in most areas, so you’ll be pushed to evolve both personally and professionally. -Community Service: While I definitely question the motives behind Spreetail’s community involvement, I cannot deny that they have donated serious money, time, and resources to organizations and people in need. I believe that much of their involvement is to boost their own public image, but I’ll be the first to celebrate when someone gets their own bed or a hot meal when their stomach is rumbling. It feels slimy from an inside perspective, but I’m thankful towards Spreetail for changing the lives of those less fortunate.

*read in “Britney Spears – Toxic” melody* Recruits, can’t you see? We’re writing These reviews should be a warning It’s dangerous They’re failing ***screeching nee nee nee nee nee*** -Brought on 50 new vendors this month? Should have been 65. -Get a 5% discount off costs? Should have been 10%. -Answer customer phone calls in 6 seconds? Should have been 4. -Route shipments in 2 days? Should have been 1. -Fulfilled 500 orders? Should have been 700. -Build a functioning website in 4 months? Should have been 3. -Launch 4 new marketplaces? Should have been 8. -Fill 9 of the open roles? Should have been 11. Already crushing the competition? That’s cool, but let’s do it harder and faster for no reason and call it relentlessness. There are goals that motivate people and goals that tear people down. When the goals are unattainable, you’re left feeling defeated before you even start. No matter how hard you work at Spreetail, expect to be blamed for not doing it better or faster despite the complete lack of guidance on how to do just that by upper management. It’s a constant mind game that will undoubtedly leave you feeling inadequate despite your best efforts. With time, most employees realize they don’t have to work to the point of psychological exhaustion to prove they deserve their job and they either quit caring and stay or quit caring and work somewhere else. The epidemic of “burn out” has hit most employees and it's evident after taking a quick stroll through any office or warehouse. Most will respond with, *deep sigh* “Living the dream” or “Hanging in there”, when asked how their day is going. Bob Ross would not proclaim it a happy little culture despite a company mantra the size of his afro. Ultimately, I CHOSE (No, I wasn’t let go) to leave because I didn’t align morally with what was going on behind closed doors. Running good people to the ground with insane expectations, not paying vendors on time while we grew our own empire, and taking away promised benefits that were earned was not something I could stand behind. And of course, the mass layoff and focus shift. ~*We CaN’t ChAnGe ThE aLl HaNdS aGeNdA*~ Yeah okay, der der der I’m Brett. How upper management sleeps at night is beyond me. I guess if you’re the CTO, there’s likely a female employee next to you though which probably helps.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We hear you, and we%E2%80%99re sorry you%E2%80%99ve had a negative experience. We realize we should be better at celebrating wins while still pushing towards big goals. We should be more transparent and clear about why we make decisions regarding our goals, and invite others into the decision-making process to gain more insight. In response, we%E2%80%99re working on finding ways to better communicate, support, and motivate our team; and to help remove roadblocks that constrict them from achieving their goals. If you have any additional feedback or ideas for how we can improve in these areas, please feel free to email hr@spreetail.com.

Vantaggi

They are good at hiring many different terrific people.

Svantaggi

Same thing you've read before. Cult-like culture. Weaponized, encoded feedback. Gendered expectations—I was given "feedback" to shrink myself to fit in; would they have said the same thing to a guy? Best was when my lead encouraged me to submit an anonymous survey for "feedback" on my character and performance to my entire team. :/
