As an intern (co-op technically), it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle, and even more so during a situation like COVID-19. However, working at Squadle remotely has been seamless even as an intern. There is a great microculture on the marketing team! Things move at a fast pace and there are tons of opportunities and projects to latch onto so take advantage of them when you have the chance, it's a great way to meet people and expand your skillset.

Lots going on so you may wear many hats. I see this as a risk for some, but if your personality fits the go-getter environment, it won't be an issue and allows for more personal growth.

*unlimited PTO means management will guilt you about it before approving it, but will also make statements like "we can afford to be selective with our new hiring candidates". all while postponing , cancelling, or just simply not showing up to regular check in meetings and stand-ups. Progression within the company is virtually non-existent. If you step up to the plate in hopes of being seen, they will make it the expectation and take issue when things are not sustainable. Employee Reviews were conducted months after they should have. This in turn also resulted in our team being blindsided by an insulting "market raise" that was less than the inflation rate. when asked about company growth plans or other issues related to employee satisfaction, direct managers will ignore or worse, string you along endlessly until you get fed up and stop asking.
