Vantaggi

Excellent benefits, very competitive pay. By far the best part about working at SquareTwo are the people. Employees tend to be really intelligent, driven, and accountable, while also caring, funny, and collaborative. I ended up making a lot of great friends while working at the company. The physical work environment is comfortable and modern. HR has done a good job implementing wellness and employee appreciation programs that are actually either enjoyable and/or valuable, like a corporate university that provides free in-person and online career training in a wide variety of subjects, from Excel to Conflict Resolution.

Svantaggi

Major chasm between hourly and salary employees. The latter are treated really, really well, the former are looked down on and don't get much respect. Leadership has changed the company's operational strategies, brand, and business model to try to remain competitive, but it's caused disillusion internally because a lot of hard work gets scraped for the next new thing. The pace can be frenetic and expectations are very high. Like a lot of companies these days, there is an expectation to be available 24/7, even on vacation. You'll be tied to your cell phone. When leadership does communicate to employees about the company's strategy and performance, they do a great job, but there's a tendency secrecy, favoritism and surprise reorganizations and layoffs. Leadership rarely delivers bad news until after the fact. Opportunity for advancement can be very tricky and largely depends on how the senior leadership perceives you, even if you've never worked with them directly.
