Every employee is granted stock, and it's a clean structure with none of the complexities or harsh tax side-effects of typical startup equity/options. Everyone has a piece of the upside. After being with the company through several years, things generally seem to get better every year as the company/culture/team grow.

Executive priorities and decisions seem to change rapidly, and are not always fully communicated. It can be difficult to fully understand what's happening across the company. The team skews younger and is often "figuring it out" as they go along. The team is generally small compared to the volume of business so it can be stressful handling everything that needs to be done.
