Vantaggi

Trains you to go work for another company. Has taught me a lot abt what i will not stand for with my next employer. It unleashed my passion for the insurance industry. Now THEY will tell you their benefits are great but MOST companies will pay for your licences or CPCU or CLU & allow you to be fully vested in less than 5 yrs WHILE paying you $20,000 more per yr. SF starts underwriters at 38K. Another company on the other side of the hwy (i can see it from my desk) starts underwriters at 65K. Same job. So THEIR 'pros' aren't really pros

Svantaggi

The pay is disrespectful. They are totally inflexible abt time in a city full of transplants, single parents & the nations worst traffic. You have to be void of a conscious to be in management. And many managers seem to be looking for an out. When employees are not happy, customers are not happy, and employees are MISERABLE. UNDERWRITERS are being hired without in person interviews & the quality of these new employees shows. But people are leaving so fast they have to get ppl in as quickly as possible. I tell my family a and friends to start looking for other coverage because there is no way employee morale can be this low and customers will maintain satisfaction...

Vantaggi

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Svantaggi

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
