Vantaggi

Make no mistake, SF has been a great employer ... there are some critical shortfalls within the organization though that has been leading to its downfall. I contend those issues are with the most senior leadership.

Svantaggi

Nepotism ... how does a 34 year old who never distinguished himself within industry or academia become CEO of what was then the Fortune 12 company in the US. (Fortune 33 now?) Ed Rust Jr. and other key leadership have been riding this company into the ground. They have been asleep at the wheel. They allowed the agency force to shrink harmfully and impactfully. They have allowed that same agency force to age such that it could now cause catastrophic failure for the organization. They completely missed the internet boat, such that the organization has allowed competitors to take control of the battlefield. They jumped into banking such that they now have more diluted the product offerings and focus ... and lose considerable millions annually. They have demonstrated that they are inept at virtually every important aspect of leading a Fortune 50 company ... with the exception of being born into the right family or other forms of the "college chums network".

Vantaggi

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Svantaggi

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
