Vantaggi
* Financially solid company * Tends to weigh employees' best interest when making many decisions (State Farm is known for not doing "lay offs", they are very considerate to employees when needing to make business decisions to downsize or reallocate resources) * Promote from within culture(this is good for employees once they're in the door, but does not necessarily mean it is the best for the overall company) * Great benefits - still offer pensions. Pay is competitve to start, but can quickly move up with raises based on good performance. * Overall, I am very proud to be a State Farm employee! And I hope we can remain the #1 auto insurer.
Svantaggi
* Leadership seem to have difficulty "changing with the times" - even when they seem to really have the desire to do so. * Leadership is able to fire poor performing non-management employees, but does not seem to be capable of holding management accountable (unless there are serious "violations"). Many management at various levels seem to be able to get away with minimal work.
