The best thing were the hours. For me, because I was only part time, I was able to balance my work life and home life very well.

When you work for an agency at State Farm, it all depends on the specific agent and how they run things. They have certain guidelines but all in all its their decision on salary and incentives. So, if you do not click with the agent, it could be difficult to stay motivated. Advancement could be a problem unless you prove yourself and the next step after working as a licensed rep for a while would be to open your own agency. Being a customer service rep. for an agent you are not going anywhere.

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
