Lots of very well paid and smart individuals both technical and at the business level. Company does not hesitate spending money.

Huge competition exists at every level between old and new employees. The old employees contributed in the past, remained loyal, but don't have nearly the same skillset of the newer employees. You see political games from executive VPs all the way down to the lower level workers battling it out. Mainly the old groups just want to hang on another decade or so. Is obvious. Many new, young employees join State street, and don't last. Is for a reason.
