There are no pros to working for this company. It is only "worth it" as a very short term job, not worth it if you are planning on committing for more than 3-4 months.

The management is terrible. They take advantage of the special needs associates, reward the associates who do nothing/call out often, over work the good ones, and show blatantly favoritism. Management will not defend their employees and they enable the abusive "Karen" attitudes of customers. They expect employees to do work off the clock or ask them to stay past 8 hours, then get mad when you explain that you cant. Management does nothing to fix the understaffing in each department, which is really bad in some departments specifically in the Deli. Management will vindictively cut hours and passive aggressively "accomodate" school schedules. My coworker and I submitted school schedules and they threatened to clean house and transfer us into another department. The management talk about the employees behind their backs and gossip with front end workers/supervisors. They do not care about the mental health of employees. I have worked in 2 or 3 different stop and shop locations, and these were problems in every one- making me suspect its a company wide issue. It is also very difficult to move up to a better position within the company., there is no diversity, and the culture/value and compensation/benefits are extremely poor.
