-In six months, 10% of the workforce has been fired. Some were there for less than a month and others for years. Management is treating bad deployments and mistakes as a "people" problems, when they have "process" problems. It definitely feels like people are being scapegoated, and managers who regularly fire don't have reputations as being competent or as being good mentors. Someone asked at a quarterly meeting if it's a place where you "grow or be silently terminated," and the response was that if you don't grow, this isn't the place for you. Later, the same leader said that the comment was heard and proceeded to list all those fired in the meantime. The focus was not on how to grow in your position or improve other than to use the annual professional development stipend. -My manager changed 3 times in my first two months. Most of the managers had less than two months with the company before being assigned to me. My 30-60-90 day plan made no sense once I understood my projects, teams, and responsibilities. My fourth last told me to not even bother with it, but there was no replacement. -The company is constantly switching to new things, but doesn't really provide the background or commitment to them to see positive results. For the most part, the people spearheading these initiatives don't have much experience using them in the past or introducing them through change management. I've seen KPIs, empowered product teams, PRFAQs, product-driven roadmaps, and agile squads. One is dropped for another and then picked back up again. -Roles and responsibilities are unclear. I see it mentioned in lots of project and team retrospectives. Someone asked leadership to better define roles and responsibilities at the last quarterly fireside chat. The facilitators said go to the org chart and look in greenhouse. I was never able to find any job descriptions, and when I followed up, two leaders told me to just look at my job announcement if I wanted to know mine.

There aren't cons so much as the realities of working in a fast-paced, small company with aggressive growth goals. Every team member wears multiple hats, and there is a lot to do. This environment and work culture may not suit everyone.
