The work can be rewarding. Decent benefits. Good people. Focused on giving young folks a chance to learn and grow. New opportunities are abundant for young, lower paid employees. Participate in community outreach initiatives.

In my experience, they talk the talk, but struggle with walking the walk. Not for the faint of heart. Much is expected but appropriate resources are lacking to support the demands. Not willing to pay for experience. Gallup screening is heavily weighted, but the results are mediocre in many cases. Diversity exists only at the mid to lower salary levels. Office environment is noisy and crowded.

Sports Medicine has unfortunately changed from a dynamic and collaborative group to one being led by toxic leadership. Rather than working together and trusting team members, they now have an in group and out group. If you’re in the in group, you can say anything you want without being questioned and be automatically trusted even when your track record says otherwise. If you’re in the out group and your message doesn’t align with what the leadership wants to hear, then you are automatically wrong and not to be trusted.
