That kind of collaboration is a big part of who we are, and we’re glad it stood out to you. The past few years in mortgage have been incredibly unpredictable. Like many in the industry, we made hiring decisions based on the hope of a faster rebound. Unfortunately, the market didn’t recover as expected, and we had to make some incredibly difficult calls — including letting go of Team Members who had only recently joined. That’s the scenario we always try hardest to avoid, and when it happens, it’s felt deeply by everyone here. We’re carrying those lessons forward as we plan more cautiously for the future.
