Summit Health has some of the best providers in the state. They are largely a pleasure to work for and tend to be really respectful to staff. Your co-workers will, by and large, be really helpful courteous people that try their best. Summit Health does have pretty high hiring standards which is evident from the people you work with. No matter which office I was in (I worked as a float for a while), I would always look forward to going to work in the morning.

The biggest issue Summit Health has is workload. They expect their CMA's and RN's to be able to do everything that is required to run the office. The multitasking is unbearable at times, with obtaining medical records, entering old records into the system, refills, prior auths, answering phones, scheduling appts, managing schedule (including blocking out and rescheduling for hosp rounds). All of this on top of the expected MA role: rooming patients, taking vitals, Hx, Sx, med rec, tasks from the provider, buckets (basically a bunch of inboxes filled with tasks). They usually have only one PSR (Patient Service Representative) per office, but they have the responsibility of checking-in pts, answering phones, and scheduling. Some PSRs take it upon themselves to take on more work and lend us a hand, but it's understandable as their scope is limited and they are inundated with calls. Also, management will tell you that PSRs have the responsibility to check-out. That's not the case in every single office I was in - again, not the fault of the PSR. Oh, and be ready to juggle having to ask pts to hold on the phone while rooming a different pt. The stress involved in this job was so bad that I ended up in the Urgent Care for HTN,
