Svantaggi

When I first interviewed at Summit Technology Group in Santa Rosa, I was impressed by how kind everyone seemed. I accepted their low-ball job offer because they assured me that after six months—once they had seen my performance—my salary would be raised to what I initially requested. That never happened. I truly enjoyed working with my coworkers, but the workload was imbalanced, and I ended up carrying the most responsibility. The office environment had a slightly chauvinistic vibe, with the expectation that women in the office would pick up the slack, plan events, and handle administrative work while the men in the field—who were unionized—were treated as the priority. The company’s views also made it an uncomfortable place to work if you weren’t aligned with them. Many employees were vocal republican supporters, and the company is openly anti-LGBTQIA2S+ and anti-women, which made the workplace feel unwelcoming at times. The company itself is struggling financially, yet they push a "we're a family" narrative to justify poor pay and a lack of benefits. While a flexible schedule was a nice perk, there was no PTO or vacation time, making work-life balance nearly impossible. Whenever I asked for a raise, I was told it wasn’t in the budget and the company couldn’t afford it—yet, somehow, they always found money to give raises to others or fund expensive work trips for themselves. It was clear that financial limitations only applied when it was convenient for them. Despite working hard and trying to help improve the workplace, I was berated in a public meeting over something I was never trained on. It was humiliating and one of the worst moments of my career. High turnover in my position kept the company in constant fight-or-flight mode, with little to no training for new hires. Before I left, I made a significant effort to set them up for success, giving clear, direct advice on how to fix the revolving door issue. They ignored it, and unsurprisingly, they are still struggling. After leaving on good terms—despite everything—I found out the owners were talking badly about me behind my back, which was incredibly hurtful given how much I gave to this company. It’s clear that their version of “family” only applies when it benefits them. If you’re considering working here, be prepared for abysmal pay, no real career growth, and an outdated, rigid mindset that refuses to evolve. They don’t believe in remote work and have no real interest in fixing the deep-rooted issues that make this workplace unsustainable. I cannot recommend working here unless you’re comfortable being undervalued and overworked.
