3yThank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We are very sorry that you had this experience while working at Sunday. We strive to provide an environment where all of our employees feel supported, safe, and respected.
We take our Sunday values seriously – especially empathy and humility. This year, Sunday has begun sending out quarterly company-wide surveys to gauge the effectiveness of our various culture initiatives. We use the survey results to measure how our employees are feeling about role & responsibility clarity, trust & collaboration, understanding of company values and mission alignment.
We’ve had several open and honest conversations with our Tech Team to discuss the culture survey results as well as to address critical feedback we’ve received from both former and current employees. From those conversations, we identified two areas where we can improve:
Clarity on roles, expectations and career development
Building a culture based on trust, safety and open communication.
For the first, we’ve drafted a tech levels / skills matrix for both our managers and individual contributors to better support our team in their careers. For the second, we brought the entire team onsite to discuss the values we want to embody in our everyday actions, including empathy, collaboration and impact. We take pride in our engineers and their contributions - both technically and culturally and we aim to continue these conversations as we support one another in our growth as a team.
