Vantaggi

The employees are all very kind, quiet, introverted, friendly, positive, and genuine. Unfortunately, this does make them easier to control and be taken advantage of by the CEO. =(

Svantaggi

A lot of young people are hired right out of college, and I worry that this is because they are easy to mold and manipulate. “Company culture” is stressed to the point of nauseam, and a “culture fit” there, in my opinion, means a person that will do anything that is asked of them without advocating for themselves at all. To me, it seems like people’s opinions and boundaries are not respected by the CEO, as evidenced by the activities and tasks that are asked of employees but when discomfort is expressed, they are looked at as not being a “culture fit” and fall into the pool of people that won’t ever be promoted. I don’t think people negotiate their salary here, as that wouldn’t really make you a “culture fit” and the CEO may fire you because of it. Your performance will be based on the CEOs opinion of you, as opposed to the value of your contributions and work - which is really confusing to everyone because they want a clear understanding of what is expected of them and the answer just seems to be to say whatever the CEO wants to hear. You WILL be asked to do weird activities and tasks that have nothing to do with the job you were hired for. The scary part is that you have to agree to participate, even if you feel uncomfortable, because if you don’t it will be seen as a performance issue and prevent you from getting a raise. Also - make sure to rate your happiness as a 5 on your reviews because the CEO considers letting go anyone that rates themselves as unhappy. The CEO claims to value “humility” and “respect” but walks around talking about how amazing the company is and getting rid of any employees that express themselves. The CEO still has his hands in every department and is still the person making all of the decisions for the company, despite having leaders in each department. These leaders are called Captains instead of Managers or Supervisors, no one is really sure why. The CEOs general attitude toward his employees is that they should be grateful for everything he gives to them, and if they remotely seem like they aren't :::gestures toward the door::: GET OUT. - INSANELY strict lateness policy (you will get a written warning if you are ONE minute late a few times in a given month). It is terrifying, lol. - The “flexible time” policy is: you can leave work an hour early if you skip your own lunch (and before this policy, people were often working through their lunch and not allowed to leave even a minute early). - There are “anonymous” surveys that are given out and employees are told that no one will know who submitted feedback. SHARE AT YOUR OWN RISK (you will be figured out, lol). - General consensus is that everyone is completely terrified and filled with fear all day, every day!!!!!!!!!!

Vantaggi

Mostly great coworkers in the warehouse. You can get a lot of hours. Unintentional weightlifting gains.

Svantaggi

They pretend that harassment (racial, sexual, and otherwise) doesn’t happen to their employees and will try to get you in trouble if you talk about it. Promotions are given to people the managers are friends with, not to high performers. Workloads are not split evenly and friends of the managers will get easier days (such as multi B carts which allow you to get your lines (numbers that measure work) very quickly when picking, as opposed to pallets which are often HUGE items or massive amounts of product and have you literally running across their hot warehouse all day). Frequently sexist assignments (women not assigned certain areas). Firing people so fast that they need name tags because they didn’t even know their name yet. Racist comments (ie. making fun of Nepali coworkers) are apparently a fine thing to say. Someone telling you they jacked it in the bathroom to you is apparently also fine. If you’re receiving the water heaters, you will need to frequently lift them over your head by yourself for hours (expect injuries and often). No AC.
