Compensation is below market standards for companies of similar size and scale. This directly impacts talent retention and morale. Leadership presence in India is weak. HRBP experience is extremely disappointing. The HR representative displays behavior that is unprofessional and disrespectful toward engineers. Instead of being an employee advocate, HR appears authoritarian, and leadership remains passive, allowing this culture to continue. It often feels like HR wields more power than the actual site leader. High level of secrecy around exits. Rumors frequently circulate because departures are handled quietly, with no transparency. This fuels anxiety and distrust among employees. New hires often resign within days or weeks of joining. Cafeteria food quality is poor, and complaints are dismissed casually — often with suggestions like “bring food from home,” which does not reflect a supportive employee experience. Micromanagement of attendance: HR closely monitors login and logout times and if you raise anything she will make sure that she talks about the attendance, which creates a lack of trust and adds unnecessary pressure, especially in a modern workplace environment.

If there are faults, it's that we are too nice and collaborate too much that it sometimes slows down decisions. People are genuinely passionate about building, marketing, and servicing a great product & experience for our customers. Upward mobility is real for those who work towards it - SurveyMonkey likes to promote from within, and I've been able to grow my own career from IC into a leadership position here. Benefits are great too. I've had 2 babies while working here and felt fortunate to have the 16 week parental leave and $20k towards fertility/doula services. Flexible hybrid remote/in-office. Favors pacific time zone.

The PE-owned chapter at the company has been one of consolidation and cost-cutting. It forces focus, but has meant we've had to say goodbye to a lot of talented teammates.
