Normal day: I walk in, and there is an individual sales goal to be met. I was told during the interview at Swarovski this was a supportive, no pressure atmosphere. I was thrown into direct sales my first day without really knowing any product knowledge. And get this, they only decided to start telling me about the product names after about the first week working there. Computer training? A whole other week later. So basically I looked like a complete moron my first two weeks of customers asking me questions and I, not having any form of a decent answer for them. Manager claims to want to help you but instead of training you, he /she 'swoops' in to save you when you are asked a particular item question. This situation occurs multiple times over weeks because... hey, the training can wait. Employees gossip, and I'm somehow stuck in the middle of it. I was asked, "What do you think about ______?" I just stood there staring like I really don't even know, I just started working here. Overall the thing that made me ultimately leave was the sales pressure. It's a commission work atmosphere except, without the commission. I heard the outlet stores were different but if you're working from one in a mall, I really hope you atleast somehow like it.
