Vantaggi
Drivers get a lot of support.
Svantaggi
Micro management is the game! Your perfomance will be judged by your "Q-calls" (safety message), not your low turnover, not your ability to communicate, but it's all about your Qcall. You will continously get added to everyone's "pet project" so that you can be the one to implement it. It all funnels down to the driver leader, and you will take the blame if it doesn't work. Co-workers are good, just stressed out like you. Every day you will have someone (even from other departments) run some off the wall report and will try to show you "should" improve. If one of your drivers gets into an accident, it will be scruitinized to see if you did everthing to prevent it (even though, you are across the country at a desk). Safety is a good thing, but to blame the driver leader for an accident is unacceptable. No company Xmas parties. Very little budged on extras to make you feel like you matter. Company politics and name dropping is commong amongst middle management. Pay is not the best, and bonuses are almost insulting for the workload you have. Benefits are expensive and going up. Raises didn't come close to matching inflation.
