Vantaggi
This is a good job if your in high school or university. You can really work as little or as much as you want which is great for people with busy schedules. Only pool supervisors and management have to deal with parents complaints. Most of the supervisors, management and staff are nice.
Svantaggi
Its a family business so some nepotism but that's expected. They can be very pushy when it comes to taking shifts. But this is cause no one wants to take shift. I think that most of the workers don't really need the money, their parents just want them to have a job. So management has a tough time getting people to supply.
Parents can be too much and expect too much so supervisors will put a lot of pressure on you (but this isn't the supervisors fault).
My main complaint is that we are not paid for before or after our shift. What I mean by this is that you're expected to be on deck a few minutes before the shift and then after the shift to clean up and for a meeting with the Supervisor. But for this extra time you are not paid. It probably totals to 10-15 minutes. You also have to spend time doing report cards which you are not paid for. They keep say you can make it up in bonus but the bonus system has many requirements.
They also don't have showers for instructors so you have to either shower with the children, or get changed in the co-ed staff room. Also the staff room is freezing, especially in the winter.
