The co-workers are amazing. They will bend over backwards for each other to get things done.

The company doesn't understand what IT salaries are worth today. They pay people no where near industry standard and incent their techs to meet a very specific target for hours with little to no flexibility when bending over backwards for the customer is required. Often there are internal squabbles over who gets to book their time against a customer and help is often refused if a tech won't give up some their own hours to help the customer. This is the first and only company I have worked for that will remove bonus money for going above and beyond. No real benefits program beyond basic health and dental. No RRSP matching or proper bonus structure. Companies Senior Management are Sales People and don't show any value for the employee. Only thing of value is the next deal they can close. And for employees to work to the bone but not clock all of the hours put in so they don't go over on paper and loose bonus dollars.

Our CEO provides strong and thoughtful leadership, setting a clear vision and demonstrating genuine care for both employees and clients. This tone from the top fosters an open, collaborative atmosphere. Finally, the collaboration across departments here is outstanding. Everyone works together to solve problems, share knowledge, and support one another. It really feels like we’re all on the same team, working toward the same goals. I’d highly recommend SysGen to anyone looking for a workplace that values integrity, balance, and teamwork.

Sometimes staff are given a high level of empowerment to make their own decisions, which is great for independence and growth. However, this can mean that unless someone reaches out for help or flags an issue, it’s often assumed that things are on track. For those who prefer more frequent check-ins or guidance, it might take a little time to adjust to this culture of trust and autonomy

This is such a toxic workplace. They don't care about you, only about how they look. The manager had good intentions but was clearly not trained enough to guide a team, and the workload kept piling up to an insane level that drained everyone around me. Career advancement felt like a myth, no matter how much effort you put in. It became obvious that raises only happened when someone threatened to leave, which said everything about how little they valued people who stayed loyal. On top of that, employees were stretched thin, and the burnout was real. Upper management stayed completely out of reach, and any concerns we raised were blatantly ignored as if acknowledging them would require too much effort. Work-life balance was pitched as a priority, yet the pressure and constant catch-up made it impossible to enjoy a single day without feeling guilty for stepping away. It got to a point where the stress felt baked into the culture, and no one seemed surprised anymore. If you are looking for stability or real development, this place will just leave you frustrated and drained.
