Vantaggi
- Our people (nicest, most intelligent, ego-less group of folks I've ever worked with. My colleagues are always ready to lend a helping hand, step up to take on work to achieve a common goal, and have fun both at and outside of work). - Flat model (all consultants are peers, colleagues, business owners and we're not trying to "outshine" each other as we're peers and this helps to take away the politics at work). - Business owner mentality (we help to run and grow our business - something you can help out with immediately upon joining SEI). - Work / life balance (we work a balanced amount, especially relative to our compensation... and you get paid what you work). - Ability to have equity (unlike other consulting firms that usually take years and years of seniority and a "buy in" at SEI you can be awarded or purchase equity relatively early on in your career... and it literally pays dividends). - Always room to grow (we are given ownership of our careers and can grow in any area we please). - Local model (we don't have to fly to work, we drive to work). - Our values (we respect each other, hold each other accountable, and are always working on ways to improve).
Svantaggi
As much as I'd like to leave this area blank, that may take away some credibility from my review. I really don't see any "cons" with working at SEI, but I feel it's fair to call out that we are a flat model with limited leadership positions. We have few Managing Principals and Managing Directors so if you're career aspirations are to become one of those it's certainly possible, but the opportunities are few and far between versus a more "traditional" consulting firm. I knew this going in and am 100% okay with it, but felt like a "con" to call out here.
