Vantaggi
My immediate Supervisor & Manager were great! They both had an 'Open Door' policy & never had a problem with you just popping your head round for a quick chat, or to discuss a work related problem & were always ready to listen to idea's.
Svantaggi
Tyco could be a great place to work. But the upper senior management seem still to be caught up & stuck with the mindset of 'the way things were done' with the previous CEO. The new CEO, appears to understand this & appears to try to be trying to change this very negative mindset. But his message is not 'filtering' through & still has a very, very long way to go. Because of the present economic climate, they're making staff reductions, but as with the previous CEO, they always do this just before Christmas & the beginning of the new year. Which is not very productive & has a huge negative impact remaining staff morale. Promotion & career advancement basically don't exist, which is a real shame, as Tyco has a wealth of extremely talented, hardworking (in most cases) employees & they're really losing out on fully utilizing the existing resources they have at hand. They also have a very bad habit of letting some of their best people go when times get tough, & moving accounts from other countries to the US, without really considering the the nuances of the way business is done in other countries & the negative impression this gives - it's like calling the bank & knowing that you'll be talking to someone in India who really doesn't care or understand what you're saying. Even though I've just recently been let go, I'm not bitter about it (I've been able to find other employment quickly), I've got a lot of good memories. I'm being constructive & honest.
