I have been a recruiter for about 3 months and this is the absolute worst company I have ever worked for! Just over the short amount of time that I have been here I have seen a parade of people get bullied and pushed out because they didn’t fit in with the unprofessional, “cult-like” culture. They like to hire right out of college so they can mold them into the compliant employees they want and pay them little to nothing. They bait people in by telling them what an awesome and supportive work environment it is and how much money they can make when in reality it’s a terrible work environment and they only pay $12.25/hr until you hit $3k in spread (around 9 months) then make you hit $8k in spread before giving you any commission. Forget about having a life outside of work, they expect you to work 24/7, most people come in around 7:30am and leave around 7:00pm and if you come in at the standard time (8:00am- 5:00pm) you better believe you’re getting the stink eye. The turnover is outrageously high (30% attrition rate) with most people leaving around the 6 month mark and I could count on one hand how many people that have been there for over 3 years. There is also a hierarchy with the Account Managers and Recruiters with Account Managers refusing to work with the “new recruiters” and only submitting candidates from recruiters that they like. You can only be promoted into the Account Manager role after you hit a certain amount of spread and contest. This company has fooled people into believing an Account Manager position is actually a promotion when in every other recruiting firm it’s just another career path that you can take, plus it’s more responsibility for the same amount of pay. They set it up that way so when someone questions them about the high turnover they can say “well look at all the people we have promoted”. The people that are unethical and unprofessional are the ones that get promoted here and whenever someone report the behavior they just say “sorry there is no way to prove that”.

- The benefits suck. - High recruiter turnover with highly variable experience trying to work with them-- some are good, most are not. - Once you are placed, you will be promised regular meetings and then never hear from the recruiter again. - Trying to find a new contract if you are unhappy with your current placement is nearly impossible and I don't believe they are incentivized to help you move at all. - You have to manually request a raise and depending on how you negotiated your contract, you may or may not have the ability to receive one. - There is a cap to how much they will pay you for the contract so even if you work that position 4 years, once you hit that cap you are stuck. I originally submitted my resume with TekSystems when I had finished my degree and never heard back. Many years later, I was approached on LinkedIn by a TekSystems recruiter for a position and he had no idea I was in the system previously. Working with him was good, and I did get the position. Then I never heard from him again and I've had 4 or 5 different recruiters whose names I could not tell you if I tried since then. There's supposed to be monthly calls, they never happen.
