      The overall benefits package from TIAA-CREF keeps it among the best for those who value long-term investing and a broad range of 'perks'. The people employed here work as a team; this is certainly true among the professional ranks. Contributions towards the pension plan are quite generous and not something you can easily find elsewhere.

      Along with many other financial institutions, TIAA-CREF needs to tighten its belt which translates into reduced spending on those things that are not critical. There is uncertainty and low morale in some areas.
