Where to start? Management in the higher echelons have their noses so high up in the stratosphere that they have lost touch with what really matters... The conservation work that we do. We get blasted with email after email with multiple new policies and we're expected to read through them all and know every little nitty gritty detail. They tried to change the vacation policy and tried to slip it by us all, and this meant we all had to use up overflow vacation days, or lose them all. Word slowly started to spread about what they were trying to do and enough people spoke up and it was changed. However, they made it sound like it was an oversight on their part, because they got caught with their pants down. They make corporate decisions without collaborating with the groups that are directly involved with the processes but then talk about employee engagement, collaboration and transparency. We no longer get emails about who leaves and who gets hired as this would indicate the high turnover the company is currently experiencing. Their LACK OF transparency means that we no longer know who does what, or who to contact in HR, or any other department. New staff's emails may be mistaken as spam because we don't know who is an employee anymore. We get news from our CEO about our new head office, and employee engagement and how far along we've come, but the mass exodus continues. Staff who have been here for years are now leaving, for greener pastures, for organizations that value their employees' opinions and input. The Board of Directors knows nothing of what's going on, which is unfortunate, because if they did, they'd put an inquiry into our new regime's actions. Our Board has, historically, never occupied themselves with the operational side of things, but if they only knew about the great loss of great employees, great knowledge keepers, and intelligent staff, they would raise a few eyebrows and wonder what's going on. Our CFO and COO should be fired for talking down to people, for bullying and for not withholding our HR policies and deadlines.
