Vantaggi

-chill but a sensible culture -prior to the layoffs, the people was its best asset with most being young and full of great ideas -work from home scheme was available (but only for certain teams) -freedom to build and design stuff

Svantaggi

-laid off most of its employees during this pandemic without trying to cut back on costs first to try and not lay off anybody -communication is always an issue even if there are multiple ways of connecting with people in other offices abroad -product didn't always have the best QA (some releases get straight up merged to production) -no clear career structure or plan -questionable business decisions (buying print media companies in this day and age, business travel by people who leave or get laid off a few months later, etc.)

- Very ambitious group of people who want to do big things. - Smart in their respect to software development. From what I've heard, it's a good place for young professionals to get some useful experience under their belt. - Casual dress code and monthly happy hours (before the pandemic).

Svantaggi

- Management needs to be more unified in their decisions, since there is no single CEO that the company reports to. - Well-thought-out plans were not implemented. Management doesn't do enough research on strategic decisions before they are made. They will get an idea and run with it before talking with department heads to see if it makes sense or what the repercussions will be. - Not enough transparency with their employees. Undermining managers by talking to their subordinates without the manager's knowledge. - Management seems to care more about the time spent at your desk as the signifier of productivity. - The Chicago office is left messy and unkept on a regular basis (was not like this before the merger). There's a big lack of respect for the shared space of the kitchen.
