There's always opportunity to improve at Target and there is a lot of time spent planning and discussing how to make the company better. Working in .com, you really get to be involved with the planning and decision making processes that have an impact on the entire network.

Expectations vary so much across the network that it really depends on the building you end up in. The work life balance is terrible and the turnover of senior management and middle management makes it difficult to develop yourself long term or have a long term strategy with your team. There's a lot of "shiney ball syndrome", because of the lacking job knowledge. The number of "high priority" initiatives rolled out on a regular basis is exhausting and there's no way to keep up with the additional workload without putting in time outside of your scheduled period on a weekly basis. Recognition from management is minimal and comes across as disingenuous. The growth you get from the experience is valuable but most people can expect to leave the company disgruntled.
