Svantaggi
Compensation Issues: Salary adjustments for promotions do not adequately reflect the increased responsibilities. In some instances, employees in higher positions earn less than those in lower positions. Lack of Transparency: Information about salary projections and raises is often withheld, creating uncertainty and making it difficult for employees to plan their career growth. Inequity in Opportunities: There are inconsistencies in how opportunities are granted to employees, with some employees being able to apply for positions others are told they cannot pursue. Impact of Tenure Reset: Early promotions can lead to a reset of the tenure period, affecting eligibility for raises and discouraging internal growth. Detailed Experience: I have personally experienced significant issues with the Tek Steps program that have directly affected my motivation and career growth. Here are the key points: Tenure Reset and Negative Impact: Accepting early promotions reset my tenure period, which limited my eligibility for progressive raises. This policy discourages internal growth and penalizes those who take on greater challenges. Insufficient Salary Increases: The salary adjustments I received during my transitions from S2 to S3 and later to Technical Lead were minimal and did not reflect the added responsibilities. In some cases, I even earned less than colleagues in lower-level positions. Lack of Transparency: When I requested clear information about projected raises at 6 and 12 months for the offered positions, I was informed that this information was confidential. This lack of clarity generates uncertainty and makes it difficult for employees to make informed decisions about their professional growth within the company. Inequity in Opportunities: Despite being told that I couldn't apply for an SME position due to my time in the current role, I later learned that a colleague in the same position with the same length of service was able to go through the application process. This inconsistency felt arbitrary and disrespectful. Salary Evidence: Over the course of my tenure, despite two promotions, my salary increased from $1,200 to $1,785 per month. However, this progression is overshadowed by the fact that at various points, I earned less than colleagues in lower-level positions who had not been promoted. For example, after being promoted to S3, my salary was $1,700 while S2 Engineers earned $1,800. This pattern continued even after my promotion to Technical Lead, highlighting significant inequities in compensation.
