The work experience came with significant challenges. The company has a very small team with constant direct involvement from the CEO, which often led to decisions being made based on personal opinion rather than any clear product or business direction. The leadership's behavior could be unprofessional at times, including taunts, mood swings, and unnecessarily long stand-up sessions that felt more like pressure tactics than productive discussions. Much of the work felt without clear purpose or real impact, and task discussions were frequently delayed until late in the evening, which resulted in extended work hours. It was normal to receive calls well past office hours. The company also lacked a clear long-term vision, making the work feel directionless. Opportunities for growth were limited. Attempts to take on more meaningful work outside of the assigned scope were often met with excuses. Many tasks were repetitive, time-consuming, and added little real value. Compensation was below market standards, and the 90-day notice period made leaving extremely difficult, which often felt more like a retention trap than company policy. During appraisal cycles, instead of constructive feedback or recognition, employees were often presented with excuses for why increments could not be offered. Overall, while the peers and team culture were supportive, the leadership style, lack of direction, extended working hours, compensation issues, and the handling of appraisals made it a very challenging and demotivating place to work.
