Friendly , nice people, nice place to work

Gets a lot of work

I honestly didn't know what to expect. If you're scientifically minded with a college degree, or just curious, this isn't that type of place. To my surprise, most of my coworkers and even some supervisors didn't have degrees or even formal scientific backgrounds. It's an industrial lab specifically meant to cater toward clients, both government and private, for testing specific samples such as water and soil. The pay was good, very good, but the overtime season can be brutal at times and some of my coworkers seemed to struggle with that. Some departments seem to have stronger team culture and supervisors take an interest in you.

What I didn't like was the nepotism. Working for a family company isn't all bad, but they will care more about their family than you, and that's just the hard truth. Multiple families or friends appear to work there, and if you're not in, you're likely expendable. But some departments are disorganized, very impersonal, and like to micromanage you relentlessly.
