Management changes way too often for goals that are set to actually get accomplished. Strained relationship between business units means a 'shared service' is not actually shared, but help from that department is only a luxury, which makes it difficult to schedule a project and to trust that tasks will get accomplished. R&D is expected to be familiar with the manufacturing processes and capabilities, yet training or even visits to the manufacturing plants is rare due to cost. It feels like it is also looked down upon to ask for time and money for additional training and/or visits to plants. Communication between R&D and Manufacturing is limited.
