If you aren't middle to upper management, expect to be treated like a caged monkey. You are constantly under surveillance by your supervisor/line manager. For example being judged for leaving your desk, using the toilet or making a cup of tea. You are not praised for performing well, only chastised when you make a mistake or don't hit a target. Morale is persistently low and there is a tangible negative atmosphere around the office with constant bickering and talking being backs. Relationships form between co-workers and even inter-management, then turn sour. There is a tendency towards nepotism, hiring family/friends where possible. It's generally a dismal place to work.
