Communication between shop floor employees and management is very poor; you’ll learn that very quickly. We’ve all heard the saying, “I’m not the foreman because my ideas make sense.” Supervisors and leads will tell you to do unproductive things that make no sense like rip out setups, start new jobs that they told you to do when you’re in the middle of one, stay in your designated work area until the bell sounds like you’re in elementary school, and push a broom when your work area isn’t dirty.
