DISCLAIMER: The views, thoughts, and opinions expressed in the text below belong solely to myself, and not to my employers (past or present), organization, committee or other group or individual. All information presented below is my personal opinion and not to be taken as fact by the reader. I have included "*in my opinion*" periodically to remind the reader that this entry is solely of my own experience and could have been interpreted differently by others in the same circumstances. Where to begin? -*What felt like* no enforcement of the already loose candidate ownership rules. I was not be backed by upper management when I had deals ripped from me *in my opinion*. I had a permanent placement that would have netted me my first substantial commission of a few thousand ripped out from under me by another Recruiter out of a different office who was going against "FRG policy". They (my bosses) eventually "sided with me" *in my opinion* admitting that the other Consultant had been purposely sneaky, yet offered me a very small percentage of the total commission. When I confronted my manager I was told to suck it up and let it go. This happened after months of working tirelessly to find breadcrumbs of commissions. -You have *very small window* of time of ownership of your candidates *in my opinion* meaning that if you don't talk to them (allegedly) every day, they are fair game to be talked to and placed by other consultants without any compensation to you. -Unethical practices and off color remarks *in my opinion*- I have never had to bite my tongue more than when I worked here. Most of the candidates we worked with are from India on H1B visas and the general office mentality is to treat these people like work horses *in my opinion* . You are praised for guilting them and talking them into as bad of a deal as possible *in my opinion* to increase your sale margin to outright crazy levels. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the market of recruitment, and especially contract recruitment, is that you try to increase your margins where you can but the means to do this at MFI/GFRG was *in my opinion* not right. One Senior consultant (Who was billing quite more than the average consultant) would*in my opinion* verbally degrade the candidates yelling things at them then would hang up on them. They would sometimes call back and tell him that they would take the offer at his (much lower than desirable*in my opinion*) rate. He would then confirm with them their start date and job details then hang up on them again and exclaim out very off color remarks in regards to the candidate. The management in the office would laugh at these types of comments regularly and make similar remarks of their own *in my opinion*. Usually, these comments were *What seemed like* centered around how funny it was that they were taking advantage this H1B *insert not so nice word here" as bad as they were. Many bad apples, from consultants, all the way up to senior management would just generally throw around *in my opinion* quite bigoted and derogatory phrases when speaking about candidates and clients and this always went unchecked. The only time this was addressed was when the VP sent out a branch wide email that we need to *something like* "tone down the negative talk about candidates." This was never followed up on or enforced like much of the other company policy. *in my opinion*" -Compensation The pay is below average and commissions are extremely difficult to attain with the structure of the business and the Consulting market itself *in my opinion*- $38k base- (I was lied to by the interviewer *in my opinion* and told that I would realistically be making $75k within my first year.) I knew many great, hard-working consultants who were there for roughly a year and were projected to be making about $38-$40k *in my opinion* -In the office I worked at, they don't pay for parking either which will cost you an additional $3k-$4k or so a year out of pocket if you plan on commuting and buying a monthly parking pass near the building. -There aren't really any other notable benefits either and vacation/ sick days are average *in my opinion*. -No remote work (You can't even access your work email outside of work) -Insanely high turnover rate. As people are quitting, they are bringing in for interview fresh-faced college grads who have no idea what they are getting themselves into *in my opinion*. They truly can't keep up with internal hiring needs *in my opinion* considering how quickly people are jumping ship when they realize how difficult it is to be successful at Frank. It doesn't help retention when the highest billing people "to look up to" there are also the most unethical, cut-throat ones as well *in my opinion*. My total team size also went down from 9 consultants and team leads to just the 2 team leads with no consultants shortly after I left. This trend seemed to be similar to other teams and across the other lines of business *in my opinion*, leaving the giant office space at about *in my opinion* %30-%40 capacity. -After each consultant quit they were also absolutely smeared by the remaining employees in the office *in my opinion*- insulting them for mostly appearance characteristics. This happened with almost EVERY person on my team that left before I did. I always wanted to speak up and call these people out for some of the down-right cruel things *in my opinion* that were said about past employees but never did because of certain back-lash from those same people. -TERRIBLE culture - I feel like it is hardly even worth explaining at this point but the culture of the office is "Churn and burn" to the furthest extent of the phrase *in my opinion*. There is no real team mentality whatsoever *in my opinion*. You feel like a worthless sack of meat sitting at your station with breath down your neck to hit all of your KPI activity goals each week. They tell you to "DIAL DIAL DIAL" to make the branch look better when really just going down a list of names/ phone numbers and calling with no details on the candidate/ company you are calling is not going to net you good results whatsoever *in my opinion* and ultimately make you and the company look bad/ unorganized. -I, and many others on my team, never felt like we were being invested in or even talked to like equals *in my opinion*. This alone, very quickly, made me feel like "why should I want to invest back into the company?" The Team leads, upper management, and senior consultants would trickle down open jobs from their clients to newer people but do a very poor job of teaching us how to generate new clients of our own *in my opinion*. Even when they were giving you decent advice on how to be successful with business development, there was never enough time to work on your own book of business because your team lead would be pressuring you to contribute candidates to theirs*in my opinion*. (The Senior consultant I had mentioned earlier was notorious in the office for putting out an open job, which newer people would send candidates to, then purposely not call on those candidates for that job *in my opinion*. Instead, he would wait until the next job of his opened up, submit your candidate without you knowing, and leave you with nothing for your recruiting efforts in finding that candidate and bringing them to him in the first place.)*in my opinion* This, of course, went unchecked as well *in my opinion* and senior consultants would laugh it off*in my opinion*. -No work-life balance here *in my opinion*. You are expected to come early and leave late if you "want to be successful here". An easy remedy for this is to let Recruitment Consultants have access to their emails/ CRM logins outside of work to prep for days to come from home. Most other agencies will provide you with a laptop workstation that plugs into a hub at the office giving you more room to work off of two monitors which is extremely underrated for your workflow. At Frank, you are at a small desk *in my opinion* with cables everywhere working on a single monitor (small complaint in comparison to everything else...) -The way the nature of the business is, you are ONLY ever on the phones to conduct your business *in my opinion*. In my case, I was working in one city exclusively with clients and candidates in an entirely different part of the country. This makes it so you never actually get to see the people you are working with/ for which is personally a downside for me. For me, it makes more sense in this line of business to have that face-to-face person to person connection with candidates and clients. It also makes the vetting process much more secure when you can interview candidates in person/ drop by a client's office to bring them coffee and develop your business that way *in my opinion*. Long story short: although lengthy - This hardly scratches the surface for how much of a mess my experience was with this company *in my opinion*. It's truly beyond me how they stay in business and have even a slightly redeemable reputation given some of the practices I witnessed there *in my opinion*. I just felt like it was important to me to share my experience with the company for those considering employment here. Your experience may differ and it could be better at other branches, however, I did not enjoy my time spent here whatsoever.
