Like with many retail jobs customers can be tricky to deal with but when they become belligerent and typically verbally abusive, and often times also make threats against staff, they do not get banned from the store. In the few years I’ve been here we have banned 2 out of the 50+ people who have made threats and have said horrific things to employees. It’s shows staff that making money is more important to the company than protecting employees another example being when the company fired most of the security guards for stores at the start of 2025.
Despite making a big deal of liking to “promote from within”, many store level employees aren’t even given the courtesy of a phone screen interview for roles in the corporate office even if they have relevant experience. For employees who have a full time job and work nights or weekends in the store and have years of relevant experience in marketing or operations or purchasing in their full time job and Terrascend won’t even talk to them.
The purchasing orders and production are a joke. There is so much over production and over buying of bad product that we have to sell so much at heavily discounted rates before it expires which has made it almost impossible for us to sell higher margin products and has worsened customer behavior towards us.
When employees have gone around the chain of command with concerns about managers or supervisors, corporate management and HR have ratted out the employees to the managers they made complaints about.
