Vantaggi
The people are great, but to be fair you can find great people all over Kansas. The experience you gain can land you a job at a real employer when you inevitably get burned out from covering for all the turnover on your team.
Svantaggi
People aren't promoted based on leadership qualities, rather than based on years of service. That leaves you with a bunch of technically savvy middle management who can’t manage. Culture is just a word to Textron. Everybody home safe, but who cares if you make it to work when we call you in during icy conditions? Too systematic in approach often aiming for check-the-box. Performance reviews are a joke; you’re rated on a scale where the default is “meets expectations,” which is only changed if you perform very poorly or save a cat from a burning building while finding 30 million dollars for the company. Your goals are forced to be generic things that you can’t feasibly achieve, focusing on the company’s profitability rather than processes or your own development (i.e. Achieve net operating profit of X).
