Vantaggi

Cash compensation is very favorable compared to Fortune 500s, in spite of lack of cash bonuses.

Svantaggi

Bonuses through stock options are of very little worth to rank and file employees. Cash bonuses would have been much better. eLearning system and abolition of paid classes and conferences, coupled with a constant crisis-mode crunchtime operation, means professional advancement is very challenging and must be engaged in on your own time (outside work hours). Internal mobility has been severely curtailed due to frequent internal reorganization and hiring freezes. Employee satisfaction and trust has plummeted since the heydays of the 80's and early 90's. Since the late 90's to today, management has pursued aggressive cost reduction, downsizing, and outsourcing that has eroded employee morale and trust. Retention of new and highly skilled employees is low, with those left behind electing to do so mainly because of proximity to retirement age.

Vantaggi

The Cigna Group overall is a fantastic company to work for! They invest in their employees and do a great job ensuring everyone, in all departments/locations/teams feel as if they matter with the multitude of perks they offer to employees. Many team members were knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to supporting the healthcare industry.

Svantaggi

While employed at Cigna healthcare, I experienced a work environment that often lacked consistent communication, balanced workload distribution, and transparent leadership practices. High-performing employees were frequently expected to absorb additional responsibilities without corresponding support, while shifting expectations and excessive micromanagement created unnecessary stress and instability. Over time, this impacted morale, trust within teams, and overall employee well-being.
