Vantaggi

The Giving Block team is comprised of continuous learners who create a work environment where anything is possible. There are endless opportunities to make an impact within the organization while growing your own skills. The Giving Block is leading the way to build the future of philanthropy so that nonprofits can further their lifechanging missions. As an employee that opportunity alone motivates you to bring your best self to the table every day.

Svantaggi

The fast-paced environment is not for everyone. Only problem-solvers and dynamic executors will thrive.

Vantaggi

TGB is a fast moving place where you have a long leash to run with any ideas/projects. A lot of mission-driven folks without being "political". Good ideas get support and if you are willing to do the work, and move fast, it's a place you can quickly get more responsibility/advance quickly. Full-remote is a bonus too if that's your thing. Being within a public company also provides resources and stability even though TGB still feels like a startup otherwise.

Svantaggi

Not everyone loves a fast-paced environment, and there's an expectation that everyone works hard at least around certain milestones like year end. If you're looking to be physically in an office, and a simple 9-5, probably not your cup of tea.

Resume Boost: You can gain additional SaaS and crypto experience that can enhance your resume. Remote Work: There is an option to work remotely, though it's worth noting that most employees end up working until 10:30 PM.

Svantaggi

My time at The Giving Block was by far the worst job experience I've ever had. As a Project Manager, I expected support and collaboration, but instead, I encountered significant issues that made my role nearly impossible: Lack of Managerial Support: My manager was consistently checked out during meetings and provided no support when I flagged issues. In fact, they even suggested I stop meeting with them altogether and direct my concerns to the COO. Disjointed Leadership: The organization suffers from severe leadership issues. Co-founders meddle excessively in day-to-day operations, leading to a disjointed decision-making process and a lack of clear direction. Toxic Culture: Company-wide Slack channels are used to publicly call out and demean employees. This creates a toxic atmosphere where communication is adversarial rather than collaborative. High Turnover and Poor Communication: There is rampant turnover, which speaks to deeper cultural issues. Despite being initially praised by HR, I was suddenly let go for supposed performance issues that were never communicated to me during one-on-ones. Misleading Incentives: They dangle the carrot of Shift 4 stock options if EBITA goals are met, but don't be fooled. Layoffs are frequent, and employees rarely see these stocks vesting. Conclusion: The Giving Block sells itself as a fast-paced environment, but in reality, it's an organizational mess with little regard for employee well-being or professional growth. If you value a supportive workplace and transparency, look elsewhere.
