Pretty good proprietary tracking system for tasks that is constantly improving. Hourly pay, so overtime for meetings and late hours. On call is voluntary. Roy will step in of directors are out of line and will even "fire" an association if the board goes rogue. Homeowner support screens phone calls and handles most homeowner issues themselves

Svantaggi

Not a diverse workplace. Management department is nearly 100% young, white, males. Difficult for women to advance. Roy has been known to pit managers against each other for promotions. Middle management is not effective and tend to make the job harder, rather than supporting and assisting managers.

The Management Department has almost 50% female (6 of 13) with two of six management positions with females. Company wide 3 of 7 key leaders are female. We do not pit managers against each other for promotion. We allow, when a vacancy opens, for all qualified employees that would like the job to apply for the job and interview for the job.. I guess some might see that as 'pitting" them against each other - but we view it as providing an even chance for all employees eligible to be considered fairly.

Company is growing fast, stock value is increasing every year. Employee owned.

Svantaggi

Have to be ready to work. People who don't have drive don't stick around.

Free beverages and snacks every weekday — sodas, juices, tea, coffee, water, etc. Monday to Friday. Every employee’s birthday is celebrated. And in the summer, that can mean back-to-back birthday parties. (I attend to celebrate — but skip the cake. Too much sugar!) Frequent company outings, many of which are sponsored by vendors: think baseball games, dinners, and bar events. The perks are real, and the company does make you feel like you’re part of something special.

Svantaggi

Office culture can be a bit tense. Interpersonal drama exists, particularly in certain departments. In my experience, most of the “catty” or backstabbing incidents tend to stay isolated within specific groups — most notably among some women in the same department. (I'm not sexist — just reporting what I've observed.) That said, drama rarely crosses departmental lines, and most male colleagues don't seem to get pulled into it. Still, everyone needs to watch their back. Letting your guard down entirely isn't recommended. Onboarding is tough. You're thrown in the deep end. If you’re not quick to adapt or self-teach, this work might not be for you. Training is minimal, and you’ll learn most things by doing or asking for help within your team. Due to the utter lack of standardization of the basics with multiple ways of doing certain tasks in the system, every association manager has his/her own way of doing things which then creates an environment full of hostile gate keeping out of the fear of teaching a non-team member something and then they do it wrong--ultimately, relfecting poorly on the one(s) involved.
