pay is decent and co-workers are genuinely very nice, almost formed a trauma bond with them over how bad we were mistreated. Staff discount is nice when you eat at other branches, sadly after seeing how this company treats its staff I have no desire to eat or spend money at any restaurant under the ivy group ever again.

1. Company was took over before I was hired and they cut staff meals, discount is available for lunch but when you think a little bit harder your break isn't paid at all because you've spent that on food... very blatant wage theft... they do have money for live musicians who take over a station and leave everyone with one till to work with. 2. Constantly told about labour costs and cuts while they touch record profits and increase the workload to the point its embarrassing to work there because of how bad the service is and the constant customer complaints.... you are also held accountable for those complaints too and treated like you are a robot. 3. They schedule you for illegal shifts all the time, head waiter at my branch would get home 3am from closing and when she arrived an hour late for her 10am shift because she slept through her alarm she got in trouble....this happened on multiple occasions. 4. Management is not fit to run anywhere like they're truly slow...its hard to watch someone with that little common sense and organisational skills..I think they were promoted because they're just as sketchy as the company.. they hold you to such high standards when they can't even allocate sections, provide a full uniform or remember to send people on break/get a cover for that break. I've heard " we don't do breaks here" as a joke multiple times which I did not laugh at. 5. Wannabe bullies. The kings cross branch of Harrys has been open for about 3 months now, half the original staff has quit and there has been one formal complaint from me/email to hr and one official tribunal from the head waitress...all at the same guy...yet no disciplinary action has been taken. You are constantly reminded everyday you are disposable then when you act like it you will get in trouble. This is not a place where going above and beyond is celebrated but if you mess up once that is now the representation of your service. 6. I was yelled at by a supervisor and told to "SHUT UP" in front of other staff and customers, the customer even had to ask me if I was okay and after my mood dropped for the rest of the day the supervisor had the audacity to make a complaint to me to the GM about my attitude..leaving out the verbal abuse he threw at me... I will be taking that much further...They have an unbelievable amount of cheek and audacity for the female employees and god forbid you're not white either cause now they're going to comment on your tone and use the word "intimidating" no matter how soft you talk or how careful you are with your words. 7. Getting anxiety everyday before going to work because you know you're going to be so overworked and overwhelmed..and understaffed. 8. They HATE any form of self worth in a person, they purposely hire students and young people that don't know their employee rights or are too shy to speak up for themselves, I am not one of those people though and I was wrongfully fired on the spot for stating I wasn't going to do something illegal... the manager then tried to lie and after I provided evidence I was then rehired to avoid going to tribunal...deep all this drama for a part time student summer job...since then I have been targeted by these losers who clearly feel like they settled in life and arnt brave enough to pursue what they really want to do...they still desire the power and control despite not doing a single thing to earn it... genuinely the fakest weirdest set of people its like a fever dream that people can be that unkind especially to the back of house, you would think their father owns the company or they're a shareholder the way they run it.
