Management. There are some suspect financial practices in this agency, and if you question them at all, then you are instantly seen as a threat.
Management say they like strong people, especially women, but the moment you have the temerity to offer an alternate opinion or solution, you are shut up. I was once pinched, hard, in a meeting, as I was about to say something. The person didn't even know what I was going to say, before they made sure to quiet me. Physical abuse such as this cannot be tolerated. I'm disappointed with myself that I didn't take this further.
SLT don't seem to have moved on from the publishing world. Content and content creation is very different to traditional publishing and the same processes don't work.
When I was hired, there were a number of other new hires. We all ticked DE&I boxes, and I feel this is the only reason we were hired: to give credence to the DE&I talent management arm of the business, they had to show diversity within the wider agency.
Like many reviews state, this is a toxic environment, and I suggest it be avoided at all costs.
