Vantaggi
- Location is great for anyone living in Boise. Easy access from Chinden or the Greenbelt. - Co-workers are fantastic and will go out of their way to help out a fellow co-worker. - Good discounts for friends and family if the hotel has enough availability.
Svantaggi
- Poor work environment. No seats for desk agents. You are required to stand on old carpet on top of what seems to be cement. Even if you have good shoes, your knees, feet, and back will be in shambles - Low pay. Pay is abysmal for the amount of work you do. Hundreds of guests and phone calls, restocking product in the pantry, taking in packages from delivery drivers and cleaning/vacuuming the desk and carpet. - Zero opportunities for raises or movement into higher positions. - Constantly understaffed - Lazy, uncaring, ungrateful, and selfish management. A few excluded, most management is only out for themselves and their clique. They play favorites so employees who are not as great at their job never get talked to and can basically get away with murder. Any time the hotel is busy with a conference or booked up, management will never give you praise or even choke out a "good job" or any kind of words of encouragement. You can make 1,000 guests happy but you better not make the slightest mistake or your job is on thin ice. Management is aware of issues with the hotel and if a guest has a complaint about anything and management gets word of it, you will get talked to about it even though they have the recourses to fix the original problem. Management will almost always be on their phone in their office or watching shows/listening to music. Their desk phones also ring from incoming calls but they absolutely will not pick up a single call even if the front desk is slammed with check ins/outs. They know you're busy and getting overwhelmed but don't care.
