As someone who has been with Thesis for a few years now, and after reading some of the most horrible things from some people. Especially current employees. I thought I would share some of my experiences and thoughts. Perhaps to bring some humanity, empathy, and reality to this page. Firstly, I completely understand the struggles that the pandemic has brought upon us all. But I want to share that. Many of our senior leaders are parents, and they also all had to deal with the added responsibilities and stresses that come with balancing work and home life during covid. Despite these challenges, our senior leaders continued to work together and support their teams in order to keep the business moving forward. Thesis did not stop, business kept coming in, and we had new people announcements weekly. Teams grew, and people were great with it! Now let's acknowledge the social, political, and economic unrest that has affected us all. It has been a challenging time, but I am proud of how resilient and dedicated our team, including our senior leadership, has been. Despite the difficulties we have faced, they have continued to show up, be transparent about things and continue to run the business. Yes we had lay offs, but so have many other agencies and companies in Oregon. During the pandemic tech, and digital companies ballooned. Today there are websites dedicated to companies who have laid people off. Why is Thesis horrible because we did. We are not. And neither are our leaders. Its economics. Everything is great until leadership is needed. Glassdoor is silent until leaders take action to make the business continue to move forward. Because let's be honest when do we leave a yelp review for how amazing your dinner was? I'm guessing not very frequently. But we are quick to leave a scathing review when the service is not up to par, or because the food was cold. Is Glassdoor much different? Regarding the benefits of our company. As an anecdote. My partner works at a prominent employer in the state of Oregon, and they have great benefits. Especially the medical, dental, and vision. When I put the Thesis benefits next to my partners the benefits are highly comparable. Especially the medical, dental, and vision! In addition, Thesis offers PTO, VTO, a fund for continuing education, a first-time home buying fund! I mean the list goes on. One benefit hits home. Today if an employee or partner experiences a miscarriage, you can take some paid time to mourn the loss. Before this benefit was implemented. My partner and I went through a miscarriage, which was an incredibly difficult time for both of us. Yes, it was during the pandemic. I shared this with my boss who is on senior leadership and the first thing they said was. “I'm here for you, thesis is here for you. Take the time you need.” The next day Keely, our CEO, went out of their way and sent a large flower arrangement to our house; she hand-wrote a note offering support during this challenging time. That makes me cringe in joy. And even though time passed. I still am moved by how Keely was there for my family. Finally, there is no perfect company; all staff meeting, announcements, or ways to have maneuvered through these last few years. However, I believe Thesis ( yes imperfect) is doing things right when it comes to running a business and taking care of its employees. Prioritizes work-life balance, already covered benefits and perks. Oh AND values diversity and inclusion. In fact, In all staff, we learned that we had reached 41% BIPOC and over 60% women. I can't think of another company in Oregon that can say that. When I first started at thesis the number that was shared was 27% BIPOC. Yes. Thesis still has work to do, and I think our senior leaders are well aware of it.

Svantaggi

Well, we get a mac computer, mouse, keyboard when we start. I guess that's ok. We get a good portion of our cell phone and internet reimbursed. I guess that's ok too. There are snacks in the office. Alright, I guess. We get to work from home, or we can go into the office. Tough choice sometimes. One thing that can be better is compensation. But in all staff they announced some new changes coming to that. Nice!

Vantaggi

Thesis has been an incredible place for me to grow professionally. I've had the opportunity to learn, take on meaningful work, and be supported by some of the most talented and thoughtful people I've worked with. What stands out most to me, though, is the personal care and humanity I experienced during a very difficult period in my life. Both my manager and the CEO went far beyond what I would ever expect from an employer, offering compassion, flexibility, and support that allowed me to take care of myself and my family when I needed it most. I will always be deeply grateful for that.

Svantaggi

Like any organization, there’s always room for growth and improvement. But I’m 100% committed because I believe in the leadership, the people, and the direction we’re heading. There’s a real sense of care and purpose here, and I’m proud to be part of it.

Vantaggi

The people doing the day-to-day work are the company’s greatest strength and the primary reason many employees continue showing up each day. Teams are filled with talented, hardworking individuals who consistently deliver despite significant organizational challenges.

Svantaggi

Leadership feels increasingly disconnected from the realities of delivery and employee experience, with an overwhelming focus on revenue and margins above all else. At the same time, leadership frequently overcommits to client demands and approves work at unsustainable or negative margins, only to later criticize teams for failing to meet financial targets created by those decisions. Employees are often treated more like interchangeable resources than long-term contributors, resulting in exceptionally high turnover and a constant revolving door of talent. Any meaningful, innovative, or strategically important work is routinely handed to external contractors rather than internal teams. These efforts are often executed in isolation, with little intentional knowledge sharing or investment in growing the capabilities of permanent employees. This creates frustration, limits career growth, and reinforces the perception that internal staff are not trusted with the company’s most important opportunities.
