Svantaggi
No incentive-based emplyment. This is a startup, and a potential leader in the field of adult programming education. Thinkful is the first startup created by a Thiel fellow named Dan Friedman that Peter Thiel actually invested in. He invested one of two million dollars that constituted their angel round. The mentors add most of that value by training all of the students and helping to create the coursework. Trust me when I say the Thinkful app used by the mentors and students leaves much to be desired, so it's unlikely that they have an engineering team on staff. The Thinkful lie is that they convince you that you are doing something altruistic; that working for them is almost a form of volunteering. I think the person who interviewed me actually believed this lie too. You aren't. You're training people to become extremely valuable and land high-paying jobs. It's just not the same as slowing the spread if the aids epidemic in Africa... What you are doing is making Dan Friedman and Darrel Silver rich by working for pennies on the dollar. It's the Thinkful lie.
