Vantaggi
TSL is a great place to work. Everyone is fantastic to work with, everyone from the CEO down treats people with respect, and people are properly dedicated to the company and its mission. It's incredible to see the product making a real and tangible difference to the maths confidence of pupils. Technically there are some very interesting challenges around making a product that works for a wide range of users, from seven-year-olds to teachers and tutors with varying levels of tech savvy. Then the challenge is delivering that between the UK and Asia with potential connectivity issues at both ends.
Svantaggi
EdTech can be a challenging sector to work in. Schools have limited budgets, and this may be getting worse before it gets better. TSL is a premium product but it comes at a premium cost for many schools, and although customer satisfaction is very high, sometimes schools just cannot continue for purely financial reasons. This means less revenue than is ideal, and the company has to run a tight ship to keep afloat. If you are used to working somewhere with more funding, revenue or financial freedom you may need to adapt your approach.
